Pantanal - Seasons
The best period to observe the fauna of the Pantanal is April to June, the period of "Vazante", when the water diminishes creating little lakes full of fishes. Temperatures are pleasant.
Another interesting aspect during that time is the "Lufada" (May and June), when fishes leave their bays swimming towards the rivers. They are pursued by the larger fishes resulting in a intense migration, comparable of an escape, up the river.
October and November is the period of "Rodada", when fishes return down the river towards the wetlands for spawning. Fishing is best in August and September, followed by "Piracema" October-March, when aqua fauna recovers.
