A vast extension of low lying-floodplains, former natural bed of the Paraná River. That’s the Iberá Natural Park. The animals observed here are basically: broad snout caiman, capybara, dear, howler monkey, and dozens of species of birds such as parrots, parakeets, storks, egrets, hawks and others.
Esteros del Iberá are in the province of Corrientes, Argentina, about 400 km south from the Iguassu Falls and 150 km from Posadas. In the center of Iberá there is a natural reserve, where the small town of Carlos Pelegrini is found. The access is by an unpaved road (120 km); it is a base of some hostels where visit starts.
Boats, 4x4 jeeps, trekking, horse ride.
