The bird watching shows that it is perfectly possible to have an agreable and ecological relation with nature through the simply observation, instead of keeping birds in captivity. This practice can be done individually or in little groups through the special trails in the both, Iguassu and Iguazu National Parks, Brazil and Argentina respectively. These parks are among the biggest forest reserves in South America and are an ambiental protection area where one can find rare specimens of fauna and flora.
The rich biodiversity of the parks attracts researchers all over the world. Its avifauna is composed of more than 200 different specimens, such as macaws, toucans, sparrow-hawks, humming-birds, jabiru starks and goldfinches. Among them we can also select the famous blue-and-yellow-macaws, purple chested parrots, black-hawk eagles, macucos (gray birds tinamous solitarius) and the Brazilian Mergansers.

It is just a 9-km trail passing by streamlets until one can reach the Poço Preto (Black Well). The place almost totally covered with sub-tropical forest and it is where we can find a great range of birds of the region.
